Ledger Wallet initialization- a step-by-step process
You can start off the process by connecting your Ledger device to your computer. For this, you can use the USB cable that comes with your wallet. But, if you are using Ledger Nano X, then please note that it supports "Bluetooth connectivity."
Go to the https://www.ledger.com/start which is the official website from where you need to download the software required for wallet setup. On this page, choose your wallet device model- Ledger Nano X, Nano S, or Nano S Plus.
When you are on the next page, click and download the Ledger Live app from the ledger.com/start website. This file is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android devices.
After Ledger Live installation, follow some easy on-screen prompts and choose the "Initialize as a new device" option. When you are prompted to connect your device, do so and refer to the instructions in the next section to set up your wallet.
Create a new wallet
When you launch the Ledger Live app, hit the option to set up a new wallet. When prompted, connect your wallet device to the same PC on which you had installed Ledger Live.
After this, you must choose a PIN- make sure the PIN is 4 to 8 digits long, and do not share it with anyone.
Now, your device will generate a Secret Recovery Phrase- This should be stored offline in a secure safe place. Make sure that you do not store it digitally and do not share it online.
